Welcome to Inland Online Academy!

Dear IOA Families,
Welcome to the 2025–26 school year! At Inland Online Academy (IOA), we are proud to offer innovative, flexible learning experiences that support the unique needs of each student. As a School of Choice in the Perris Union High School District, IOA serves students in grades 7–12 through a dynamic, student-centered online and hybrid independent study model.
Formerly known as Scholar Plus Online Learning Academy, IOA’s new name represents a renewed vision and opportunity to reimagine what virtual learning can look like for students today.
IOA is a fully accredited school offering course-based independent study. Our students take A–G approved courses taught by fully credentialed PUHSD teachers. With a balance of real-time live instruction (typically 2–3 days per week) and daily independent work, students learn at a pace and schedule that works for them—while still receiving the support and structure needed for success.
A hallmark of IOA is our co-enrollment option. IOA students can enroll in elective, CTE, or VAPA courses—and even participate in CIF athletics—at their home or boundary school, giving them the best of both worlds: flexibility and opportunity.
This program is a strong fit for students who are self-motivated, organized, and ready to take ownership of their learning. Families are valued partners in this journey, and we are committed to creating a learning community that is inclusive, innovative, and student-focused.

Dr. Thomasian has served in Perris Union High School District for over 12 years, with previous leadership roles at Paloma Valley High School and Perris High School. She began her career teaching biology and geoscience, and is a proud UCLA alum. Her passion lies in building meaningful, future-ready opportunities for students.
